Thank you, I did see movement in number 13 today

Maybe he's ok. Or else maybe he came back from the dead? I hope it's the latter, and he hatches, what could be better for Halloween? Lucky number 13, the dirtiest egg and come back to life? I'll have to come up with a really good name for him! (I dunno, I'm convinced it's a boy somehow) LOL. Really hope it hatches!

Nope, musta been seeing things, I looked a long time at #13, and it's not as developed as the others and there are no longer any veins, I see a reddish cast, and nothing moving. I pulled it out because I don't want it exploding on the others. One of them actually does look OK, so it went back on my living list. So I'm down to 9 eggs now. Hope they all hatch!

OMG, the solution to my abundance of cockerels problem!!!!

Ugh, seriously, I just looked at my leghorns in normal light and I have 6 out of 8 that hatched are roos! How do I get such lousy luck?

I can't. I can't have them long enough to bring them to eating size. My neighbors were quite annoyed with us last time

Plus I could just imagine their faces if I slaughtered one in the yard. They can see our whole yard (and I'm NOT doing it in the kitchen, LOL) As awful as it seems, I believe I'm putting them down on Monday when the kids are in school. I bought helium and it should be as kind as humanly possible, yet my husband is calling me dr. death. Well, someone has to be responsible around here!
