Halloween Hatch Along - Setting Oct. 10th

HI everyone! We are about half way there!!!

I have 15 of the original 31 still thriving in there! One consistently looks a little slower than the others each time I candle them. I hope it's ok, and/or nature takes care of it before hatch day. Both of the eggs my daughter wrote her name on are alive and kicking strong!

I am holding onto two LOUD roosters to keep my lonley ONE pullet company until these babies hatch to keep her busy. I am not zoned for roosters, so I am walking on eggshells around my neighbors until this hatch. JUST A WEEK AND A HALF AWAY!!!

This is fun!

Ugh, just got 3 loud roosters rehomed! thank goodness, the neighbors weren't too happy with them, LOL Wow, half way there already! I can't believe it! The first time I hatched out eggs, it seemed to take forever, now it just flys by!

I had a staggered hatch and joined on the whime since my d'uccles threw me 6 eggs. I'm hatching eggs for coffekittie and a bunch of Olive Eggers. Just set two Cream Legbar and 6 coturnix quail I got free at the swap. Oh yeah, I'm setting some of my porcelain d'uccles eggs she is running with a marans/duccle and and Olive Egger rooster. I think they are fertile the last set I got, were so darn cute. They weren't from the Porcelain, they were mixed with Mille.

Hi! I just happened to see this thread as I logged on to backyardchickens a couple minutes ago. I have eggs that I started October 10th as well, So am expecting a Halloween Hatch also. Is it OK to Join this thread at this date?

Tomorrow is day fourteen and that is the time I like to candle my eggs. So Hope some are fertile and growing. I hope for at least some for Halloween because one of my grandsons turns 17 on Halloween and I will name one after him.
