That is what I am wondering. These chicks are going to start popping like popcorn. HOW in the world will we keep track. My daughter decided to put her name on two of them. So, we will just focus on those two, and the rest will land where they may. We have lots of different kinds so it should be a colorful box of chickies. I don't think we will know who is who is what for atleast 3 weeks.

Here is the final count on colors.

White
Calico
Blue Calico
Blue Calico Frizzle
Blue Mottled
Black Mottled
Blue Columbian
Buff Columbian

She always gives me more eggs and colors than I order. Drives me bonkers (in a good way), but it sure is too easy to get over run with them.

LOL, I came up with a system. First of all, each egg has been numbered and is in the incubator in order, LOL. On one sheet of paper, I have the number name of rooster/pen notes on egg condition, etc... On another sheet of paper, I have a grid with the first box for the egg number. Then, I have 4 and 4 boxes next to that. First set of 4 boxes are Chick's right foot, next set of 4 boxes is chickens left foot, and each box represents the toes their right most to left most toes. I've got 3 colors of my daughter's nail polish ready: black, blue and purple (worried about purple causing pecking though) which I will use to mark each toe as per how it's shown on the list

I just hope it lasts long enough for them to grow enough to wear tiny zipties!

Got two coturnix eggs with little heartbeats due halloween. Fingers crossed

Candled. Went from 31 to 17 in the first 5 days. : ( and ALL 17 have heartbeats but no air sacs in any of them and they look scrambled. I'm not sure any of them are going to make it.. I may stop turning them to give them a chance to settle enough to get through a hatch. Ugh! These eggs went through hell in shipping. Thank you USPS. : /

anywhooo its a hobby and all good hobbies have their challenges. I'm up to the challenge. Lets see how many little lives I can save.

I'm candling daily from now til hatch.

My eggs still haven't shipped. I chose first available because the website said they could ship within 48 hours...um, I ordered almost 2 weeks ago. I guess first available means you dont' care when you get them, so you go in line behind people who do care? I don't know. :/ Supposedly they're going to ship the week of the 15th...and it's Wednesday already...
