Halloween Hatch Along - Setting Oct. 10th

I am setting duck eggs today and tomorrow for a Halloween hatch. Was supposed to have a broody hatch some ducklings on the 20th but the eggs I bought weren't fertile

These are my own eggs, so hopefully I will be more lucky with these.

My last Serama batch has 2 developing, and if they make it to hatch and live, I'll be so ecstatic! I'm hoping for a much better hatch for Halloween! After all, we're practically the Addams family here, Halloween usually loves us, LOL

I am hoping to have some speckled sussex eggs from ebay (ya'll better not bid against me, or I will be

). If I win I am hoping they will ship out Monday and I can get them set by 10th.

Okay if your in so am I. I also set eggs yesterday, farmers almanac said 3-5 best days to set, so I did.

Ill start collecting tomorrow. prolly wont mess with any more turkey eggs until i start to see fertile eggs.

My eggs are supposed to ship on the 8th, that is if there are enough I assume, so I'm hoping they'll arrive by the 10th if not the 9th. I might be late by a day or two though. 18 Serama eggs!

I'd love to, but I'm waffling on ordering eggs. I have a set in the incubator right now, day 20. If they don't hatch, I'll be worried that there's something wrong with my bator, and so I won't want to pay for new eggs. On the other hand, it kept temp and humidity perfectly, so in theory if they don't hatch it's not the bator's fault....decisions decisions!

Have you checked the eggs? Do you have a reason to believe they're not doing well? I hope they all hatch!

I haven't candled because I had a battery explode in the flashlight I use to candle with, and the olive eggs are so dark nothing else I have is getting through. So I'm pretty much blind at this point. I did have a REALLY bad expirience with trying to make a styofoam bator (I cooked half-developed chicks *cries*) so I'm nervous even though I was much more thorough with my research and attention to detail this time. lol I've read so many things about peoples' eggs pipping at 18 or 19 days, and so to be on day 20 with nothing to go on makes me nervous! I did go ahead and order a dozen of the educator's eggs from MPC, so hopefully they'll be here in time for setting on the 10th (and I'm assuming if I have any eggs left in the incubator at that point, they aren't going to hatch, right?)
