Halloween ~ Hatch Day!

Chere, I'm with you...that's exactly how I feel! I keep saying these would be my miracle babies. First the PO, then my son, then the breaker flipped..not once, but like 3 times! and now moving them into the hatcher that I'm neurotically trying to control the temp of....

This is almost worse than childbirth!

Oh lord yes, a slow death by hatching.

Since all of the eggs that I removed were clear and either scrambled or never wents, I think the PO had a lot to do with it, even though they were apparently intact.

Well, we will see, no seeping and no smell. I'm just going to sit here going grayer. Good thing I LIKE my gray.

I think I saw this same question on another post, but I had one that was from a hen that had a 'V' shaped air sac. It went down both sides of the egg over halway, and in the center it was normal. This one of yours is in an incubator, correct? If so, it is probably something to do with the egg itself. Was it a shipped egg? Maybe it got damaged during shipping.

I have several like this and they were shipped eggs. But, I saw movement right up until the time I moved them to the hatcher, so hopefully, they will be okay...

The one I have with the sideways sac...

sorry that just sounded funny to me... was shipped form Jody (Hinkjc) She sent me 16 eggs and not one was cracked or broken!
(Out of 16, my son broke 2, 4 were clear and one quit. The 9 I have left all have good veining and look good.)

***ETA these went PA to MA..I've had better luck with east coast shipping, probably because the PO has less time to mess them up!***

I finished my 18th day this am and would be beginning the 19th, so I put mine in the hatcher...hopefully that was correct?

I also took my turner out and bumped humidity up to 71% now. I hope that is right. I did open the bator, take all eggs out, put on towel on counter, removed turner, added water, returned all eggs, temp and humidity are up to 99.0 and 71% humidity. I do have my "cork" in the top of the bator to keep humidity up. IS THAT RIGHT? HELP!! I FEEL A PANIC ATTACK COMING ON!!!!

texaschickmama --What do you mean by 'you have the cork in the top of the bator'? You need to have all vent holes open now for proper air circulation.

OMG OMG OMG I heard a PEEPING !!! A real honest to gosh peeping in my bator. Okay. I am a tough, almost mean person. Why are there &^@#$#%$$%^ tears in my eyes?

Arghhh!

How did I miss this? So we are supposed to open all the vents? I have a Hovabator 1602 stilll air that I'm using as a hatcher...there are 2 stoppers on the top (and 5 vent holes in between) these are supposed to be opened now??????
