Rocks....

I wonder...

What is the temp and humidity under the average rump of a hen anyway??? If I had a broody hen I think she would be sitting on a thermometer/hygrometer so I could see the swing!

I think dips and swings are normal and fine! Everything can't be perfect in nature...now a temp spike isn't what I am talking about. Nothing out of the normal spectrum of nature...but I personally try not to worry about swings.

I think it is going to be the most spectacular thing to see those chicks emerge!! WOW I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Hey those are some fine looking Rocks! I would like to try Buffs. Thanks for the link!

I am going to make sure the humidity is where it should be before going to bed & not worry about it.

It sure will be interesting to see when they all are gonna start hatching.

Just out of curiosity Shelleyd....Does your bators temps run pretty much the same every time you fill them with eggs? Do you have early, on time or late hatches? Just curious or is it just a gamble everytime?

Is anyone having a hard time with temps at night? We haven't turned our heat on yet (I am bound and determined to wait until Nov. 1!

) and the temp in the living room (downstairs) gets to 57-60 at night. So far the temp hasn't dropped below 99...

Last night I left one of those oil-filled space heaters on about 2-3 ft from my 'bator because I was so worried! The temps are at 99.3 and 38%humidity and 100 degrees and 31% humidity (The second is one of the cheaper accurite models) Would you factor that out to say that it's okay? Or am I going to have some late babies?

Not sure about a late hatch due to temps, but if they are late....so much for your party on Nov. 1st!

Doesn't sound like it drops to much. I don't think I would worry to much about it.

I just notice the humidity dropping over night & temp doesn't drop to much maybe just a .1 .2 or so.

has anyone had their spike in temp.I did today righton time about half way through. Temp jumped 3 degrees. Candled last night still good on 19 of 23. Cant wait time is going so slow.
