I'm so far behind on this post! I have a lot of reading to catch up on.
But. Here are my October/ Halloween babies.

Awww so cute!! :love

You can put only one in if you wish.
Anytime an incubator isn’t full, it’s recommended (though I always forget) that you fill the spaces with heat sinks. That is; clean rocks, water filled jars with lids, or more eggs ( :lau ). Because the placement of eggs effects the hatch rate, fewer can be better.

Heat sinks keep the temperature more steady, but also keep it stable during a power outage.

Very interesting!! Thanks! Would rotating the eggs around improve hatch rates?

I bought eggs from that farm... They were telling me I should put all 42 eggs in and were saying they wouldn't sell me the half dozen I got unless I told them I was using my eggs too. I don't know it confused me :idunnothen they almost didn't sell to me because I do meat chickens! It was weird, I won't be going back.

They had no more eggs. I got a half dozen but one broke before I arrived. I'll tell you one thing, their shell quality is horrible! They feel gritty, my eggs feel smooth. Must be what they feed them.

I think I should've just stuck with my own eggs. I spent only $8 so I'm not like oh my gosh I just spent $50 on eggs that are weird.

I was worried about adding my flocks offspring because my roosters will mate with anything (all roosters will). I was worried about line breeding.

Oh and check out my muscovy Coco... She learned how to fly 9 feet up at only 9 weeks. We were quite shocked to see that.

I didn't say anything because I was trying to comprehend in my head what went on when I bought the eggs. It took my over 6 hours to process. Probably glad I got so little because I'm not sure what's going to pop out. Could be aliens :lau
