Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

My HAL stats: 19 hatch oct 30, 19 hatch oct 31, 2 hatch 11/1 with a couple more pips when I had to leave today. The 2 assists are definitely culls. One from today had some leg/feet issues but moved to brooder to see how it does. 75% fertility/development and 66.6% hatch rate of 80 eggs set and 60 eggs lockdown. All eggs were from my quail.

Sorry, I don’t, but I think it’s perfectly fine putting less eggs in it? I’m sure plenty of people have done it before. I know my incubator holds 27 chicken eggs and I only ordered 12! So I think it’s fine.

Although I might order some sex linked quail eggs to put in there too.

I'm so far behind on this post! I have a lot of reading to catch up on.
But. Here are my October/ Halloween babies.

Have a question for everyone... When you have a turner, do you have to fill it all the way up with eggs to make sure your hatch goes well?

If I have a 42 egg turner, can I put only 8 eggs in it or like 12?
You can put only one in if you wish.
Anytime an incubator isn’t full, it’s recommended (though I always forget) that you fill the spaces with heat sinks. That is; clean rocks, water filled jars with lids, or more eggs ( :lau ). Because the placement of eggs effects the hatch rate, fewer can be better.
