I forgot to put that in the drawing, lol. I use K3 Kaldnes in the moving bed filter on my pond, and I use polyester batting as the prefilter material. I made the pre filter basket on mine out of plastic egg crate / lighting diffuser.

I’m going to have to google all this stuff.

So you don’t use bio balls or lava rocks and foam/spongy material?

I would probably laugh either way. I get the not wanting to do real life things... I was that way yesterday. I wanted to just stare at chicks all day and put my eggs in the bator.

I had bio balls for a while, but those don't work properly for a moving bed filter.

I;m hoping for something along the same lines, so I can easily tell the crosses and the purebreds before I even set them. With a Silkie Papa and a JG Mama, I should get a lighter brown egg, too ... fingers crossed. I didn't cross them deliberately. They were in my overflow pen - anything not a Nankin and not an extra rooster. I stuck them in when I set the Nanny eggs for Halloween - and I'm glad I did. They were the only ones that hatched!

Hey, I got a ton done yesterday!!!

Today was pretty lazy and I spent a few hours in bed this afternoon.

But the morning/early afternoon I was out and about at least haha

I’m still really sore from all that shoveling yesterday. But I felt worse laying down. Bad idea and I regret it lol didn’t mean for it to be for so long.

Yeah it was entertaining lol

And the problem is doing nothing is usually my default.

And Kiki knows that.

But I’ve been trying to change. I made myself a healthy brunch today and picked a few rings up and went to lunch.

And then yesterday I loaded and unloaded 3 trailer fulls of wood chips and raked up a ton of leaves, all to put in the chicken run. Trailer had to be loaded and unloaded one pitch fork full at a time. Wouldn’t fit in the run. And was out well after dark cause I wanted to put leaves in that night instead of waiting.

When I get working, I go crazy.

It’s the getting going that’s the challenge.

And doing small stuff daily instead of one huge task then nothing.

So far I’ve done 3 big tasks recently: sorting and putting books on the bookshelf (this has been a long time coming), cleaning out the chicken coop, and now the run stuff yesterday but there’s days of nothing in between or more. The books and coop was last week.
