Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

I want to see if that assortment is worth it, I will probably order some at the beginning of next year.

All the reviews are really good and people have received a great variety of breeds!! So I think it is. :D

But they also have a lot of breeds to choose from too and even a bantam assortment lol

I just lost my two bantam Polish (last night), I will probably never get bantams again. They aren't outside today, I'm sure something got them in the tree they roost in. They wouldn't go in the coop, they liked the tree better. They were like feral chickens when we got them.

Awwww I’m sorry! :hit

Although I think most of them aren’t like that thankfully. Maybe if you hatched your own and/or raised them from little chicks they would get used to a coop?

You should get the regular assortment and the bantam assortment!! Or regular and then some specific breeds lol

I'll see how many I keep from this hatch. I just want pullets, I won't have more roosters. My two Jersey Giants are quite enough rooster for me.

I think that the pond will be about 3 ft deep if we can make it that deep. We are using a pond liner from Lowe's and building a frame for it so that we can take it down and bring it with us when we move.
i started with preformed pond....unfortunately due to thick clay soil, poor drainage, and flooding it did not work for us....it overflowed once, and floated up twice.....the stock tank is much stronger material and we were able to install an overflow on it. it really wasn’t much more expensive than the preformed (about $50 more) but it is 120 more gallons too.....my fish have been fine at 2 ft deep with deicer in winter....your area should be fine at 2-3 ft too.. @KDOGG331 would probably need at least 3 ft deep and deicer to overwinter successfully

Thanks!! Very helpful!!! Didn’t think of all those potential issues. May have to get a stock tank then!! Haha seems cheaper and better too!!

I don’t think mine is 3 feet and it’s a weird shape and multi depths but free. Hmmmm.... idk...

We usually have a mild winter lately last few years but I think this year we will have a real winter again.

I wonder if any stock tanks are 3 feet deep? Probably crazy expensive. Even the 2 feet deep ones are pretty pricey lol

:lau then they’d be fried fish!! Which could be tasty.... :lau

But I won’t eat them LOL
