Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

These are my dogs... The little black and brown one isn't mine, I was dog sitting and brought him to our house.

They love eating duck and chicken eggs. If I did quail I bet they'd love those too

They are sooooo cute!!! OMG :love

I love dogs and I’m really big into training and everything about dogs in general so I would love to have a whole pack one day. :love

I just tagged you in a quail thread.
We will convince you that you need quail.
They are so easy to hatch, raise for a few weeks then eat and repeat. Perfect for hatching addicts.
I know this is off-topic, but do you process your own or have someone do it for you? I couldn't do it myself, but I LOVE quail, so I could send them "out" for processing ... I just have no idea if it would be worth cost ... and I'm almost afraid to find out, for fear of starting yet another forbidden project ...

I can't do the actually killing part myself yet but I can clean them with no problem now.

I didn't needuch convincing! I already have the husband onboard if we can build them a cage setup.

It’s very easy from what I’ve seen! You can use/build rabbit hutches basically I think. Or wrap big dog crates in hardware cloth. :D

I'm sorry you lost your dog! We lost two of our four cats, this year, so I SO understand. We'd like to get another, but are biding our time. We do rescues, two dogs, two cats, DD's horse - even two of our chickens. It's funny, but the right one always finds us at just the right time. I'll bet you won't have to wait very long ...

Thank you!! And aww I’m sorry!! Losing them at the same time has to be hard! :hugs Gator was only 6 1/2 so it was hard but he was a big dog so they tend to live shorter anyway and he had an immune system disorder that he had been struggling with and slowly declining for about a year and a half before we lost him. :(

And awww that’s awesome!! I love rescues!! My brother and his wife (still feels so weird saying that, they just got married a few weeks ago) have two rescue dogs and they are just the best, most loving, well behaved, sweet, sweet dogs. :love their neighbor has a rescue dog too. I love rescues. :love our last cat was a rescue too.

I would love a rescue dog if I can find the right one.

But yes they do seem to come at just the right time! Maybe I will get lucky and one will find me instead of me finding it. :love

I am a bit nervous on the cutting off the head part. Hopefully it won't be too rough! In videos they make it look so easy.
I've actually cut a few heads off myself while someone else was holding it.
I can't deal with holding them myself yet and feeling the fluttering in my hands.
If they would just not flutter I'd be setting eggs every 20 days.

Have you tried a cone? Or are quail too small for that? That might help with the fluttering ha
