Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Pics
You didn’t say real animals or plastic.

I already have plastic (and stuffed) animals :hit

I want the real deal :hit

But I guess like ~1 quail chick could fit in there. Maybe a button.

I wish we could saw some of our huge pine trees and make our own boards to build one. :D

I wonder what the rules are for that...

Probably prohibitively expensive though. :hit

Drill a big hole, and attach a hardware cloth door.

FOR YOUR DONATIONS
We need prize donations for our contests! It is your generosity that allows us to run these.
No item is too small. We can always use smaller items for second or third place.
Hatching egg donations, fowl items that are new or used in good shape, BYC PFMs, Amazon gift certificates, BYC gift certificates, etc. are all great items to donate. What some of us do is purchase an item from Amazon and send it directly to the winner: just make sure they have plenty of the item in stock beforehand.

CONTEST LIST:
There are no contests up yet. Check back soon!
I just joined BYC and I already have my Coturnix Quail in the bator on lockdown, day #16....
Happy Hatching to you all!

Any egg-sized watery mass can sub.
But again, that takes all the FUN out of it! And who wants to chance having a "watery mass" burst inside their 'bator ... especially when the alternative is to "test run" a few egglets?
Then again, ... I guess I could see the logic of running the beast with a couple of sturdy water balloons in it ... but ZHEESH ... that sounds BORING! :D

We had to make an entire walk in coop when my husband wanted to get them. They're so big. I love the green sheen on their feathers when the sun hits them. Do you have a pic of her?
It's a yucky, foggy day here, today, but I'll see what I can get. I do want to get one of her with my bantams, if only to show the kindergartners how well their "baby is doing, now ... and how big she's gotten! I think a classroom visit is in order ...

I just checked on my twin egg... There are so many veins!!! By the way, red sex link eggs suck to candle, I can see no veins but there is growth. I hate brown eggs! The twin egg is a light cream egg so I can see everything. Both are growing at the same rate from what I can see! I'm keeping a close eye on this egg.

The egg is an extra large egg so maybe they have a chance of both surviving :fl
