Thanks! Glad it was helpful. And that’s good!! I guess it just comes down to personal preference then - do you want to hatch now? If yes, I think it would be an excellent cross.

You could always wait till spring too. That might be a good option too and should be easier to sell extra chicks then too.

Exited to start my first set of hatching. Should have them the 5th or the 8th from Meyers hatchery. I could not wait until spring and wanted to get started for the grand kids to experience since they are already so into the raising of their chickens. Now that the girls are starting to lay, getting sweet and letting them hold the girls! If anyone has ideas or suggestion anything is more than welcome. Plan on setting up the incubator this evening or tomorrow to make sure in order. I realize I can’t place them in the incubator for the first 12-35 hours and have to wait them rest. Other than that I’m learning as I go.

ok so I may end up in a little “hot water” here.....just ordered more button eggs for Thanksgiving hatch!!
I soooo want another male as adorable as my benjamin button was and all 4 from last hatch look to be girls. they ship as expediently as last time and arrive within the week for set!!! DH will probably come Unglued when he finds out, but with the new finch babies, we will have to have a separate cage in a few weeks anyway!!
