Halloween "Trick"

I always say don't do anything to others that you don't want done to yourself. I have some idiots in the office but wouldn't go to such lenghts to show them how I feel. They are just human beings too.

I don't think this was funny. I think it was childish and mean. There will always be people you don't like that you still have to associate with...it's called being an adult. And BTW? he might be the way he is due to low self esteem, and maybe trying to impress you in order to make friends. How sad that he doesn't have nicer people around him.

This sounds like something first grade kids would do.

Yes, if you're going to be a complete jerk, you can expect it back, but that's a little uncalled for. If I was rude, "1 upping" everyone, then I could expect everyone else doing the same to me. But I would be pretty upset if my co-workers had intentionally tried to humiliate me, even if it didn't actually humiliate me. Grow up.

was it funny? You bet!!! we've all come across this kind of person... but if you pull a prank like this, watch out!!!! cause you can expect them to try and up you... someone like this might even go postal on everyone... then everyone won't think it's funny!!!!

Coming from an HR person, that prank could possibly lead to work place violence. So often you hear of people going to their place of employment and retaliating against co-workers with an unjustifiable act of terror that leads to a tragedy for everyone involved. I hope that you all remain safe at your workplace.

I hope your workplace is happier then mine, my place calls the HR department PC Nazi's. The worst part is the HR dept activities are hypocritical over what they preach and anyone taking a complaint to the HR dept finds out they are just a managements tool and afterwards wished they just kept quiet. (As they do forevermore, or vote with their feet)

We have a very small company, so we don't see the same problems as larger companies. Each department handles their own problems. No need to involve HR over petty stuff and working with 30 women, you see petty stuff every day. There are no men in our office.

I wouldn't have an issue with this as a prank if it wasn't for the fact that they didn't like the guy... then the prank makes a dark turn. It was not to have fun with the guy and to laugh with him... it was to laugh AT him... and to try to teach him a lesson that I doubt he learned.

Hey, don't get me wrong... I love a good prank.

My dad nailed my jeans down to a roof while doing a shingle job. It was funny cause I couldn't get up (not unsafe). And I knew he was playing around the way he was giggling. I don't get mad, I get even!

I tapped a fart machine (remote controlled) under the chair in my dads hunting blind... Phfffffffffft, pooot... RIP.... all sorts pleasant sounds came from his blind.... we never laughed so hard in our lives..

Another time I traded his hunting seat in his treestand for a toilet seat. Painted camo of course.. fully equipped with a roll of TP and a magazine rack for his reading pleasure.. he actually sat in it the whole season.... (wasn't that uncomfortable)!

I'm sorry that the OP's thread went in a different direction than intended but...
