I didn't blow the eggs, these two blew up in the steamer on their own - I kept pics of that if I need to prove it

Only liquid and get food coloring were used in the "decoration". They are black, but pics vs lighting doesn't show it well.

Thanks, I steamed eggs and had to do all today. It was loads of fun.....and my flock got to eat those black eggs and are demanding more for tomorrow

Actually it was a challenge from @N F C she saw the contest and dared me to enter

I was expecting some cracks but not the explosion in the steamer today

I would offer advice to those using Gel Food/Icing colors - They don't dry - don't believe those bloggers! I dyed the pumpkins first with traditional food color and painted gel over that and it did not dry. Had to use a paper towel to blot it until I could paint those stripes and facial features.

Thanks Debby. It would be newsworthy, but you'll have to move to GA - I don't envy the winters you are gonna have
