X2. I think framing runs and covering them with 1" chicken wire or something similar is best no matter what. So long as wild birds pilfering feed and potentially spreading disease, hawks, and other predators can't get in. The more secure, the better.Having a net on the top of your run is protection form predators also.
Thanks. Do you keep them? I am keeping RSLs but we are giving them away and I want to try another breed.There is a size difference. But they make up for the size in their egg production even if there eggs are small they lay well.
I want the silvers too, there were some available around here recently but we aren't ready to take them yet.I have golden spangled but I have been wanting silver spangled. They are hard to come by where I live.
