I think I read that MPC gets their birds from Ideal. I just ordered from Ideal. This guy looks happy and healthy and you seem to like his personality. I hope my girls fit all those categories! Lol

He is definitely kinda skittish when you go in but hes not mean at all ! And hes beautiful to look at !

Skittish suits me fine! I don't mind companionship while gardening, and will happily throw grubs I find. But I already have 2 needy parrots that think they must be on the MommaTree at all times i dot want ior need lap chickens that want to be perched on me constanly! Had a Production Red that was convinced she was a reincarnated puppy dog! And, as I said, I don't want passersby walking off with my chickens either!

That is one of the main reasons I picked them! I wanted something that laid pretty reliably, without eating me out of house and home, and was not very big... but could be sexed (bantams can't be usually). The fact that they are "living lawn ornaments" was a bonus. All my neighbors were ok with me having chickens from the start, the promise of fresh eggs helped! But when they saw these darlings, they all started thinking they might like their OWN chickens! Lol

400
opinions please? I have a hen with exceptional markings and this cockerel and tba chick. Will their back ends lighten up or is this just shoddy colouring? Bought from a "breeder" :-(

Well..... The male looks unhappy....or sick????

The legs are the correct color, but what color Hamburg are they supposed to be?
hes asleep in this pic and probably is unhappy as i had brought him inside in the small cage rather than his pen. They are supposed to be gold spangled. The colour is more like citron and there is alot of black on them. The little one is 2mths and the older one is 3 mths. He has some nicer colouring coming through but not sure if they are just his roo feathers or not

Humm.... I have never had the gold spangled, so I am not sure if their adult feathers are a great deal different from the first juvenal feathers...

I guess you will have to wait for their adult feathers, and only then will you know for sure what you have.
