Hamburg thread!

Pics
What color eggs do hamburg chickens lay? I have one that could be a hamburg. If it is I will try to post a pic : ). (pleeeeease say they lay light brown eggs! It will make my life so much easier!)
Thanks!

I have always wanted Hamburgs because of what I have read about their feed ratio, aptitude for evading predators, extended laying years, and cold hardiness. Only Hamburg I could find in my area was a blue Hamburg from a breeder called Baxter Barn here in Washington State. I just started out with one female chick because I'm not sure a blue Hamburg will have all the true Hamburg qualities. Does anyone know what breed is mixed in to achieve the blue? Is it blue Andalusian? Anyway, here's a couple picks of my new BH chick. She is several days younger than the rest of the flock (who all came from the feed store, mostly brown Leghorns plus a couple Anconas), but she has really held her own. She'll let someone peck her about four or five times before she gives them a stern look, which always puts an end to it. I really wish I knew of someone in my area who breeds brown spangled, not that I have room for more birds at the moment.

I am going to try and start breeding silver spangled bantams. I live in central Ca. I should have my first hatch in about 2 weeks. I only have a trio, so I am sure the chicks will be pet quality.
