Over the years I have used a lot of cutters on HWC, but now I like to use wire snips, regular old snips. I cut each horizontal wire one at a time right against the vertical wire so I have a clean edge when I get done. There is less bouncing around of the wire to cut me, and I just take my time.
I also use 1 1/4" staples in my brad nailer to attach it, and that works good.
