Hands down, what is a chickens FAVORITE food/treat/scraps?

Another vote for mealworms (live ones). I'm feeding Olivia up in preparation for her spay surgery next week, so I got some mealworms yesterday. Put them out this a.m. and the 3 chix went NUTS!! They ate them all in like a minute, then kept "following" me along the fenceline as I went back and forth w/ hay for the horses, etc., screaming at me and ignoring their other food! LOL!

I wear a blue medical glove when I feed them the roaches (b/c I still can't pick them up w/o a glove) anyway the chickens know the blue glove and get so excited the dance!

So far the absolute favorite treat for my chickens is whole grain or multi-grain bread. The 6 of them get one or two slices a week to share. They come running when I open the backdoor and check to see if I have bread, if I do I almost have to beat them off with a stick. I have also been training them to jump up

to get a bite.....LOL! I hand feed them so they don't fight over it....I'm lucky to have any fingers left.
