Hands on hatching and help

Sometimes they don't pip thru the air cell('normal' 'internal' pip followed by an external pip), I call that a 'side pip'.
When that happens it can take twice as long for them to hatch because it's like an internal pip coupled with an external pip.
Humidity will soar when one hatches, nothing that needs to be messed with as it will come back down on it's own.

Yes this looks like a side pip rather than bottom of the egg. I made a tiny viewing window and I can see its little beak doing lots of chewing and it’s wriggling and moving but there’s definitely veins in the membrane so I’m just letting it do it’s thing and relaxing. If tomorrow morning it’s still there I’ll think about what to do? Does that sound like a plan? There is no sign of anything in the other eggs. I haven’t done any damage or caused any bleeding, just made sure it’s getting air to breathe ok. I have had friends popping in all day, it’s like they’re here to keep my hands to myself! I think I feel a little more tense as it looks like there may be only two in the end. I truly don’t want a lonely chick

Yep...the 'chewing' mean they are absorbing the yolk.
As long as it's beak is clear to breathe not much more you can do for now,
but sit on your hands and wait.

Last night I had to help. It was rocking back and forth but I just knew there was something wrong by the angle of its beak, the place it was pipping, and the massive air saddle cell. I gently peeled away and there was absolutely no blood or veins, a completely clean white membrane. Underneath I could see it was all twisted and had to fish its little head out. It took a while to untangle. It kicked out the rest of the shell, I was a Little worried about some yellow gunk but it's all dried up perfectly and the shell was completely clean, no blood vessels and it had a big wee belly from having absorbed its yolk. It's sitting up and looking bright this morning, on its feet, just not standing right up yet but it's not walking on it's hocks either. I think it looks fine and maybe just needs some time as it's been smooshed up badly in a tight space and had been fighting hard for a long time. Never incubating with shipped eggs again. I just know in my heart it wouldn't have made it. Another is pipping right now but in the right place.

Sounds good..Congrats!
Getting stronger and stronger, standing up for short periods. It is smaller than the first one, don’t know if that’s been because of the saddle cell or because it’s a black French copper maran and the others are blue! I now have 3

Could be...or some are just smaller.
The new one is the same size and same situation with the walking. The one that hatched yesterday morning looks a monster now but she’s right up on her legs. It’s just amazing the difference a few hours can make but I know it will all balance out soon.
I found this info and picture, that’s exactly how they both look but my can they get around. The second one is standing up in our hands so it is capable, just needs rest and to get strong. Gave it some vitamins.

It's best just to give them some time after hatching,
they don't need anything to eat or drink.
I leave them in the bator for at least 12 hours.
