Hands on hatching and help

:love Yours are Beauties!! I love them!! (do you sell eggs  ) Here is my duo. He is my only male, in with his cuckoo girl, and 2 white silkies. Their babies are the 6-week old ones that I am growing out now (one currently my avatar) And I have 6 of this pair's eggs in the incubator now. Seems like you got one of mine too, or maybe it was her response to my quote, or something.
It was her quoting you, lol... Armand and Katherine!! :love

I tell ya, BYC has issues with you or something... :gig

Hi, help. I just got home turning my Buff eggs & just noticed a small external crack at the small end of one. No leaks, but some slight darkened marks have shown up. I took a picture but this sight want let me upload it for some reason :( .
I candled last night & both eggs looked great with nice healthy veins & lots of movement. Do I just keep going & maybe not mist that egg? Or put a tiny piece of Scotch tape on the boo boo? Yikes. Sure wish I could upload the picture. Help please

I have a concern. I have a muscovy duck that just hatched 11 babies fine over the course of the last 2 days. The last one hatched over 24 hrs ago. She still had 2 eggs and I figured they were bad but when I checked last night one had a crack in the shell so I put it back. I just went and checked and there was no progress so I took it out and listened and heard nothing so I pulled off part of the shell and all of a sudden it started chirping and pecking inside but not where I had pulled off the shell. I tried to put it back under her just how I found it but I'm not sure if he is stuck or not. There is no hole through the membrane. Any advice?

How far along are they? You can try scotch tape, or even candle wax if its just a think crack. Or you can leave it and see how it does.

I assume you dont have an incubator you could put it in? Maybe under a heat lamp if you can get it humid enough. Whip up something to hatch it in?
Good luck!

I don't have an incubator but I have all the other babies in a plastic tub under a heat lamp. I could put it in there with them. It is now dark and pouring rain so I can't keep going outside and pulling it out from under her to check. I don't want to mess anything up too early but my intuition is telling me he has been in there too long now as everyone else started hatching 2 days ago and last hatch was well over 24 hrs ago. I have never assisted though so I am so nervous!

If momma is still sitting, it may just be fine to leave it with her. I hear they usually get up once all that have hatched are going to. They know better than we do! Lol

Its really up to you. If you decide to bring it in, I'm sure we can help you through it.
