Hands on hatching and help

Awesome! That's a great pic of an internal pip too. I sure hope Mavis gets some siblings this time! Anxious for your morning update! :fl Day 14 candle for me last night. I kinda stopped taking candling pics, I had so many lol... but this latest set, I am amazed at how bold and strong the blood vessels look. Its so humid, my humidity is running around 32-35% completely dry, and I wish the air cells were a tad bigger, but I think everything will be ok. All 13 Golden Sebright and all 5 lavender orpingtons still going strong! This is a golden sebright egg on day 14:
What days are your eggs supposed to start Hatching? Mine are supposed to hatch over this weekend.

I absolutely positively hate them....lol I would never buy another, and no they don't help with poop. Actually they roost on the top and poop more I think...lol Filling them is a pain because the top is so much higher than the bottom. Hard to explain. If you just fill the bottom portion the food is low in the feeder. If you fill it enough that it comes up to the holes it makes a mess before you can close it. This one sits outside all the time, I don't normally use it, but I needed something for out there. I hate the big round one that I have in the coop, but it's better and they don't poop in it.
LOL, You just not set-up to fill those easy fill long "red ones" LOL---YET. Get you a plastic container with a lid----pour the 50lb bag of feed in it, But make sure the plastic container is a little longer than the "long red one"or the metal ones. Place the red one down inside the container----pour it full of feed without opening it---shake it a little so excess feed falls out and give it back to them. The only time I open those it to wash them. They Fill Soooooo Easy----like this---gotta do something when you go about 20 to fill twice a day !!! LOL

I have the big round one in one coop and my home made one in the other. I really want to make some of the PVC feeders though.

We finally were able to get the young uns out for half a day today!!! I can't wait until the coop is freed up so they can make the permanent move. Hoping for this weekend. Waiting on my sister to pick up the big roo and the 4 silkies and then going to attempt to mix the other 3-4 to the other coop. That will give me a dedicated coop and run for my silkies/nns. Got lots of pics, (Then lost my camera in the toilet. At least the card wasn't damaged.) But I am not going to fill the thread 2 days in a row. So if anyone cares to see the outside pics, and a few of the adults you can look at the FB album: https://www.facebook.com/AmyLynnCam...0208599231652535.1073741910.1661767211&type=3
Great pics on your FB page! :thumbsup
Shipped call duck update: I made safety holes in the two that were internally pipped because I'm going to bed and checked on the one who pipped by himself. 1 more egg is alive and working hard but no internal yet. :fl here's some pics...

I like that much better than holding them over the metal feed bins and using a scoop to try to get them full. I usually end up frustrated and they never get full enough for my liking.

I Need Help. I accidentally cracked an Egg in the incubator, they only have a few days left before hatch. What should I do. I candled to see if it was still alive, there is still heavy Veining, and there was movement, No Leaks so it did not pop the membrane but what do I do to keep bacteria and Microorganisms out of the egg?!? I'm gonna put some petroleum jelly over the crack for now.
