Our first chick has arrived!!!! :weee

Woo hoo!! :celebrate

Hey, how long does it usually take for the chicks to dry after hatch? Just want to know so I can adjust my humidity accordingly. Thanks.

Depends on what your humidity is. The higher the humidity the slower to dry. Mine dry better under my brooder lamp than in the bator because I run high humidity at hatch.

I'm running humidity between 65 to 75 percent. Should I put it 8n the brooder or leave it. I have 4 others that have externally pipped but I'm pretty sure they won't be hatching until tonight or even tomorrow...
Also will it hurt the others if I wish this one out really quickly?

What are you wishing? lol It's up to you. I pull mine as they hatch and become active. If you are comfortable doing so, do it. If not wait.

I have zero problems opening the bator during hatch.

Lmao that was wisk not wish lol. I just don't want to dry the others membranes out...

Sometimes I think they help the others out, by leaving early hatchers in, but sometimes they cause more havoc. So it's up to you. If you pull it out, just do it quickly
