Let it try before you do anything.  A lot of times, they make it just fine zipping the wrong end.  Just make sure it still goes counter-clockwise and doesn't stall out!

X2. More then not my wrong end pippers have zipped just fine on their own. And the fact that it's making progress is a good sign. Let it do its thing and just keep an eye on it. Usually there's not much you can do until they are ready anyway.

I made a small viewing hole. I didn't puncture the membrane I just wanted to make sure it doesn't go into distress without me knowing. It's in the incubator. I put a bit of vaseline around the area and left it. I know I should have waited but I just lost a wrong end pipper in my last hatch so feeling souch anxiety. Now all I can do is wait for it to zip or for the veins to recede so I can help. Going to be a really long day.

You gotta do what you feel comfortable with!! Me and Amy are both hands on and both assist but we tease each other because she gets anxious and will check and monitor right away but I get anxious about interfering so I will wait it out until I know it's been more then enough time. There's no right or wrong as long as the chick is safe.

Ok today is day 7 I was so excited and thrilled. Now my balloon has been popped.

Most of the molted javas are fertilized. But one has the air sack towards the bottom. What do I do,?

1 seabright looks like maybe it's fertilized the others not at all.

The biggest disappointment is the silver laced I bought off eBay. Not 1 looks like it was fertilized. They are clear as can be.

I'm at 31% humidity. Based on air sacks what do I Need to do?

Thanks. It's funny you say that cause I'm the same way lol. I want to wait but the anxiety gets to me. Having a little view hole helps me to stay calm though. Now I feel I can wait it out safely. Every time I lose a chick I feel personally responsible even when I'm not.. I just want every chick to make it lol..

That air cell is that way from shipping. It should be fine. Is it moving or did it attach there? The air cell, I mean.

And if that many look clear, maybe your light just isn't bright enough? Definitely give them a few more days.

Does anyone here know when a silkie chick is fully feathered? I don't mean like the little tufts on their head I just mean when most their body is feathered? Thanks...
