This morning both the chicks I helped out are still alive. One chick is very weak and I doubt will make it, but the other one is active and standing. It does have the cord and tiny shriveled bag hanging so I'm not sure what to do about that. Anyone with this experience please advise?
Sugar has babies! Or at least one of the two so far. Meanwhile the eggs in my incubator have yet to even start zipping, lol.

Hey guys, The two chicks that I helped out on day 19 are still both alive! The weaker one that I thought would die is trying to stand now. The stronger one has been standing and active. Yolk sac and cords are both hanging but shrinking so I'm just going to leave them be for now.
I'm certainly not out of the woods by no means so I'll keep you posted. Thanks for comments and helpful replies.
Hey guys sorry my post are so sporadic. The ameracauna chick finally hatched almost on its own a few hours ago. The yolk was absorbed and all the veins receded. It tried zipping on its own but it's leg got stuck and the membrane was to tough where it initially pipped. Anyways it's here now and it's stomach looks engorged and it's bellybutton looks unhealed. It can't lay on its stomach and keeps rolling over onto it's back. Can I do something for it? What's going on?

Just give it time, fluids aren't fully absorbed in the abdomen yet... dab antiseptic on the navel and put it in the brooder, in a cup might be best for a bit... keeps it from flopping around or getting run over by the others... just watch the navel and abdomen for infection...
Awesome!!they continue to improve!
