Hands on hatching and help

Must just be me....I've never been enthralled with him. But it's an awfully cute name for a little Silkie roo. I have a little girl named Q-tip. Seems to fit her. Got a little girl named Dufous - we used to call her "Huh" because that's how she always looked at us, but Dufus seems to fit her better. The others aren't named yet, mostly because I can't tell them apart. <sigh>

He's never done anything for me either....lol I think I have 3 out of the 11 named. Blooie, Shadow, and Mystic. I just haven't come up with anything for the others yet.

I planned to call the little red splash Ruby - but she's now all white. Go figger....so she's Q-tip. Still makes me grin that you have Blooie!
LOL. Yup Blooie is my son's favorite out of the bunch. It's a good think the name's neutral, cause he turned out to be a big boy....lol

Your as bad as me lmao!! My incubator was empty for like 4 days before new eggs were set. Now that my silkies are older I believe I have found my new favorite breed. My buff started crowing a few days ago but is the sweetest of all my chickens on my whole property. That's alot of chickens lol. Although I did just sell 8 so I do have more room. And bantams are half the size so I can double that right? :p
I need to sell some too before winter and to make room for the grow outs. I want to sell 2 trios but so many girls have gone broody, I don't want to sell the while they are brooding. I'd rather wait so they are eating, drinking good and will handle getting a bath better! They are super sweet birds. I've had only 2 that I can remember that were really nasty. The kids were scared to go outside when they were out. The funny thing is I sold them to people with no kids and they said they were never mean. Go figure. All of mine are very easy going and can be handled easily and accept the young ones I put out with them with no problems.
I still have to go out every night and carry them into the coop because they just will not go in themselves.
:lau trust me, I feel your pain!

Same here! :gig but I'm getting better. I finally started banding them...which I should have done about a year ago!

Trust me he doesn't do anything for me lol. But for his Era he was very popular as a romantic heart throb lol.

I need to give the 2 paint boys a bath and get them listed to sell. The one boy always looks filthy dirty. I don't know why, the others don't. Mine have good personalities too. Shadow likes to go after feet, but it's his way of trying to protect his girls. When you sternly say no he'll back off-usually...lol He doesn't attack- like flog like a couple of my other roos in the past tried. He just pecks aggressively at anything that moves in front of him, even your shadow. Sometimes it's fun to watch. I think I heard one of the other boys trying to crow when I went out to open the coop this morning. Sounded more like high pitch singing...lol

I'm not saying I don't like long hair on guys. I did grow up during the hair bands after all....lol Just don't think he's -asthetically superior....lol Chris Hemsworth is a doll-long or short hair...lol But I'll always be partial to Robert Downy Jr. He's my fav super hero...lol. I didn't go see Capt. America Civil War when it came out like I planned, so I am so excited for Tuesday so I can go get it on DVD!!

We watch so little tv I had to Google both names lol. I'm always like yeah the guy with the red ring or something like that to know who they are lol. We haven't seen it either. Maybe we will rent it too lol. I'm sure the kids would like it. :)
