I know notta about raising/keeping ducks...lol The little I do know is what I've picked up from the gals here.Any advice on how to tell the girls from boys? I tried the venting way but since ive never done it before i could be wrong.
I'm good and cooking in them now all three are working very well . course new thermostats in all three at ninety bucks a pop. had to gasket one completely sand blast and paint the rails and trays . repaint the inside .and replace all the corner angles . As long as eggs don't go bad not much cleaning with the two with turners. the hatcher is another story have to take the back off to really get it clean. Hatch rates could better but I'm happy with them . Slow but sure making back the money I have in them . As for not being on as much I understand three boys wonder your not nuts like me .I need to catch a nap

Glad to hear they are up and running! My incubators are all empty at the moment! But I had a good breeder contact me with a dozen shipped eggs. I'm waiting on pics of the birds but you know I'm gonna say yes!!
So cute! Enjoy those babies!!
Your as bad as me lmao!! My incubator was empty for like 4 days before new eggs were set. Now that my silkies are older I believe I have found my new favorite breed. My buff started crowing a few days ago but is the sweetest of all my chickens on my whole property. That's alot of chickens lol. Although I did just sell 8 so I do have more room. And bantams are half the size so I can double that right?![]()
Bantams only count as half....lol I ended up with 4 boys out of my silkies, two I have to move out cause they are paint. My big black cockerel, my toe pecker, has been crowing for probably about a month know. He still sounds a little funny. I still have to go out every night and carry them into the coop because they just will not go in themselves.
Mine pile up in a heap in the corner of the run by the gate. They will not go in at night. It's funny you named him Fabio. We had another member with a silky roo named that. It's funny you say that because both of my partridge silkies refuse to go into the coop by themselves. They always fly onto the low roost out in the small run. Fabio our buff puts himself to bed by himself every night lol. I'm working on keeping our big chickens out of our smaller backyard so the silkies can have the run of it lol. It's funny to cause my husband isn't big on all the chickens but he loves the silkies. He wanted me to bring them into the yard right by our bedroom window lol suprise suprise. My husband is a softy for tiny fluff balls lol. Btw fabio use to be tweety but we had to rename cause he is a stud now crowing at 10 weeks lmao![]()
