Hands on hatching and help

It looks more like day 4 or 5, right?

-Kathy
I usually see that kind of development by the end of day three, beginning of day 4, but I usually run a tad warm, because with this lg if I can get it steady at 100, I don't fuss. As long as it stays above 99.5 and below 101.5, I leave it be. But this is early, even for me.

Okay, that worked.

@kuchchicks

Here's my two Spitz:
Elvis, my roo

And Prissy (Priscilla) My hen:

I particularly like the head feathers. LOL, When they hatch babies do the babies have straight up hair doos like that is the baby fluff longer then the rest? or it only happens when the feathers come in, then you see it?

Nope you can not tell when they are born. I bought the eggs from a local girl. I'd never seen newly hatched Spitzes and when they were hatched I wondered if they really were because there was no sign of crests, but when they feathered in, they popped up.

Once they start to develop your OK to lay them down but that's a choice for you to make, So far they LOOK good, what did you do to get those deattached to show signs of LIFE.  I NEED TO KNOW

You saw my post on the she said/he said thread so I'll skip the details here. Honestly, I'm scared to lay them down. Not with the air cells detached. I don't know this for a fact but I feel like they will die if I lay them down. I've had batches of damaged chicken eggs and it seemed like they started quitting after I laid them down. But I do hope to eventually lay them down. I'm hoping the air cells attached once the CAM takes over. So I just hope they keep growing and then I'll lay them down after some more time goes by.

Almost all of them are presold!! And better yet, I'm not hatching them!! I've got the best broodies. They even tried nesting in the snow this winter.... Bunch of quackadoos!

There you go...that's the easiest way! :)

Amy, I don't think it quoted you and I totally forgot which post I quoted. Lol.

Good luck on your hatchI

I had one interesting egg that grew the membrane all along the intact sections inside the shell, but wouldn't/couldn't grow along the "track" where the air bubble could roll from one end to another. Eventually the embryo outgrew it's oxygen supply and quit. Frankly I was surprised it had ever started at all, but it was really interesting to see where the veins would grow and where they stopped.

Is that a frog in the back ground?? HAHAHAHHA you know my chickens will eat frogs> LOL  That's a HUGE MEAL>

:gig yes a frog. Never mind lol!
I think my ducks wiped out the frogs on my pond in one week! :)
