Hands on hatching and help

We have a baby! Buff Ameracauna. She was a textbook hatch; zipped right around the line I drew on the egg for her air cell! She is tiny but so strong and alert. I hope someone else hatches tomorrow so she's not alone for long.
Congrats!!!

So glad I found this thread! I hatched 2 Red Goldens and my leg bars are pipping. The pheasants are the devil lol. I had to take them out. They started pecking into the holes of the pipped eggs.
I've had temp issues and air cell issues due to shipping, but I think it's going to be ok with a little help

Btw,how long do you think it will take to read the whole thread?
Welcome to the thread!! We're happy to have you here!!! To read the thread??? Probably a while...lol I couldn't do it...lol You're more than welcome to jump in.

It's a three way race between you, me, and @RubyNala97! First one to post pictures of a chick wins the internet!
Lol. I'm up to 11 pips!!
LOL. No worries, you just help the little buggers out. I ended up with 5 out of the 12 that had vaults and only a couple that really needed help cause their head was stuck.
Most the time they hatch fine for me but a couple times I did have to help and when I got their heads out I said the same thing you did!! :gig
I have a cheeping egg! Could we have a baby by the end of the day? I knew that incubator was running hot, so hard to calculate with still air.... This egg is more important than it should be as it is our own first 'home laid' egg. And we lost the hen to egg binding a week later. It should be a buff Ameracauna.
Congrats! :jumpy
Yeah... well....... New drake... hasn't been 3 weeks yet, so....... And someone told me to.... SET ALL THE EGGS!!!! :celebrate
Lol...43?!?....are you trying to go prematurely grey?? J/k...good luck. Can't wait to see them!
Are they louder than guineas??? :lau This is a quieter night of putting them up for the night... granted, that's about 50 juvies, lol...
Yeah!!! Put the pen up before anyone is there! Then they can't complain about you getting them afterwards, lol...
Your link finally worked for me and my 1 & 1/2 year old started dancing because he thought it was music! :lau
YOU?! I put my lucky mini-chicken on the bator to give the eggs extra luck :D

Good luck, Turk!! What's the details on the calls? When are they due? (I'm getting more eggs too )
Ok, I set my green eggs almost 2 weeks ago. (Thursday will be day 14.) And this is the most hands off hatch I have ever ran! I am barely remembering to make sure I get them turned...lol Running dry of course, which results in temps staying pretty darn steady between 99.5 and 100.5. Air cells a couple days ago when I candled are looking pretty darn good. I could still make out development in all 13 I think. Going to take a look at them tonight. My other babies are doing good. They are in their funny looking stage. Can't believe they are 2 weeks old. That white one coming in grayish still amazes me. I can't wait to see what they are going to look like once they are all feathered and puffy.
:thumbsup
Don't think she's trying to get stuck yolk off..she's trying to stem leaky yolk from the umbilical. . If it's not a huge amount, I'd leave it be.. if it's a large amount, wet a paper towel with very warm water, line the bottom of the tallest glass you can fit in your Bator and put the chick in there so it can't move around or get picked at by the other chicks

a question for old timers. Who knows the laws. Swedish ducks or protected by state and federal laws on a government watch list on endangered animals. These goes with any endanger animal. But my question is does these go for there eggs also. The gas company was out a few weeks ago. Without or permission they where messing around with meter. I am not sure if these is affecting my eggs. I will get a lock some how to lock it up . But how do you protect these animals from government employees or anyone who wants to hurt them. I no how to protect them from animal predators . But people it's harder
