Hands on hatching and help

I have two styrofoams that I use a home made one and my hova. I have never had to sit home and what them. Not sure what you ment by that!! Mine has been very reliable so far.

I have a hova as well this is my first hatch any advice!? I already removed water because with it I was at 79% humidity! My temp stays perfect all day then dropped to 97 very early this am it did get a little cool in the house so I'm assuming that's why!? Will that hurt the eggs? I bumped up the temp as soon as I saw it so am hoping it didn't kill everything

Does anyone use hatching baskets or dividers.. I made a 4 way divider for my hovabator. . But the screen is 4 inches tall. . I'm finding every once in awhile a chick can climb over

Drop is better than a spike. Yes, the outside temps will effect the bator temps. Some nights when it would drop a couple degrees in the house at night I would turn on my brooder light and aim it toward the bator to help it out without having to adjust because the LGs are awful to tweak.

I would let it be like that for a bit and see if he progresses on his own to push out. Have you ever considered using the rubber shelf liner on the floor? It makes it easy to clean up and it gives the little guys some padding and helps them grip too once they are up and moving.

Any way to attatch it to the top instead of the bottom?

I made a "wall" out of the foam inserts that go between the rails in the Brinsea. Stacked them as high as I could, and a couple still found their way over

I did see where someone uses baskets, and puts the baskets INSIDE those bags that you can get for delicate laundry items. I haven't tried it, but would consider it for different breed hatching.

Yes I read that just need to get. This my 2nd hatch and started before I knew about it.

OK thank you will try that then it's my very first time and I'm only on day 2 so of course the Bator that had been stable for days before I added anything will drop and give me a minor coronary once I add eggs!!

Cant attach to top.... i think my only option would be making the screen higher.. ..which would take carefully cutting around fan cage.. worried that might restrict air movement some

Definitely looks a little wet, compared to how my sebrights usually come out. So they all may just need a little extra time. I'd let that one be, and hopefully the others will follow shortly.
