Hands on hatching and help

Eh, could be some reasoning behind it, but alot of their eggs are fairly round, and I've never had a problem before, and gotten very pretty chicks from them. I just don't like long, pointy eggs lol!

I do try to set the best shells, smooth, clean, etc. But I will likely avoid ones with super round bottoms now. (if possible)

Whats wrong with long pointy eggs? I have one in the bator now and its my first hatch. Its looking good on day 5, but when I read your post I thought....maybe I need too watch out for something come hatch?

Hope you have a pedalstool&mortar. Yowzers!
They sell just the powder pre crushed.

Well I have powdered Bute but the SMZ and Metronidazole are pills

I do have a tried and true technique for horse meds- I put the pill dosage in a snack size Baggie, get a hammer and take them out to the driveway and crush them up. Im waiting for the cops to roll in here to interrogate me about baggies with white powder in them :lau
But it actually works really well! I can make up multiple doses ahead of time that way and then I mix the antibiotics with strawberry jam to make a paste. Mmmmm

lol.

Geez I'm just so excited about my ducklings. My new candler got here so I took a quick peak while adding water. They are doing so well. 9 out of 11 eggs had strong veining and I could see all the ducklings moving. Nice sized air cells as well. My orpingtons had tons of veining as well. My welsummers were to dark to tell unfortunately. Also other good news my 2 chickens responded almost immediately to the antibiotics and are already showing signs of improvement. I must have caught it just in time. :) hope you all are having a nice day too. :)

Nice!
Headache of a day on two conf calls for hours.
Found me a new candler too-not gonna even peek till lock down.

Remember the mystery eggs I 'had' to set with my sultans? One hatched just now and they are indeed AC eggs. Glad I set them, lol. I also have a pip on one of the sultan eggs and hope to have my first sultan in the morning.
