I forgot I wanted to tell you guys something. So I have a couple family members watching the animals for me while I'm away. My mom, my grandma and my grandpa. Each one is doing a couple days. Today was my grandfather's day but my mom is stopping over at night to give the ducks an extra water change. Anyway, you know my wry neck pullet that was on the mend? Well my mom told me today that my grandfather took it upon himself to cull the bird today. Never asked me, never even told me. In fact I told my grandfather not to even worry about her and that my mom would feed & water her on his day to help. I have not confronted him yet. I'm not overly upset that the bird is gone. I don't know if she would have made a full recovery and I didn't have a great attachment to her BUT he doesn't know that and that's what I'm upset about. I'm upset that one of MY birds was put down without my consent. What if she was a beloved pet? Or my favorite bird? He does not know anything about her or the situation or my feelings on the matter. And I find that to be very disrespectful and overstepping boundaries. My mom said she was doing good as of last night. I'm curious if he plans on lying to me or just telling me the truth. I'm going to call in a little while. What do you guys think about this? Is it totally insane or what? Would you flip?
