Hands on hatching and help

Oh I've not seen the Isabella leghorns. Do they still lay as well as the originals? I almost purchased some mottled on ebay but I wanted to get away from that really bright white lol. Do you have any pics?

They don't lay as well as white leghorns - no other leghorn variety lays as well as they do - but they're not bad layers. Mine are still juveniles (I hatched them this year) but they're already gorgeous. The color is basically lavender diluted BBR - very pretty. I have Isabella birds and brown split to Isabella birds.

This is not my picture, but this is what they look like:

Hey guys it's day 20 for my cemani eggs and I woke up this morning to 2 pips. Unfortunately one is at the wrong end. What should I do? Leave it alone or help? I know how sensitive that side if the egg is and am tempted to leave it alone but I know it may not be able to hatch that way. Help!! Any ideas from the cemani expert @Pyxis.

I think I'm just going to wait. I'll give 8 hours and count this as internal pip then give 8 more hours and count that as external pip. Then maybe tale a look? Does this sound right?

Yes, count that as the internal pip - as long as it can breathe it's in no immediate danger of dying so for now the best thing to do is just to let it work on absorbing. It might not be able to turn on its own to zip so if it's not out by the time the rest start hatching then it might be time to think about helping it hatch. As always, stop if you see blood.

Ok thanks.. let the waiting begin lol...
