Eggs in it yet![]()
Lol no, I guess I'm going to wait until morning. That way I have all day to watch and make sure it comes back up to temp. It's right where I want it now. I had to put a couple wet sponges in. Our house humidity is only 16% One sponge brought it to 25%, but I want it a little higher for the silkies. So I will monitor it tonight and make sure it's steady, then if so, eggs are going in first thing tomorrow and I'll add any they lay tomorrow as well.
My bator is here!![]()

What did you buy ? I just candled 180 eggs and had 61 most clear but a blood ring or two . Some of those were 16 days old at set have to check next candle to see how many of the 16 day eggs are working If any
Now to prep and set all the 61 empty spots .
Sweet!
Just did a little cochin photo shoot

That's just one cabinet . I need to fill the other one as soon as I have enough eggs . Some body was saying on another thread that the length of daylight was the sole factor in egg production . I think that's a lot of bull . We're having cold nights and warm nights and even with the longer days my hens are up and down on laying the EEs are out laying all the other breeds . The SLWs are next and the Marans are not laying many at all .Problem is EEs don't sell good the eggs do but the chicks don't . I was all excited I got a CLB egg two days in a row that was three days agoWow! That's alot of eggs.![]()
Awww so sweet. Do you still have your lavenders?
I am so tempted to put them in tonight....lol
Dang! You go! Lol I bought the Hovabator 1583.
It's up to temp and staying steady. Got 4 thermometers in there....lol The humidity got a bit higher than I want so I took that 2nd sponge back out. I'm curious as to how it's going to be once I get the eggs in there tomorrow. I can say I absolutely LOVEthe picture window, and the fan is so quiet compared to that old lg...lol![]()
