Happy Days... NOT

Katy , think they was thanking everyone before they got any post.

You know thanks before hand thing.

I kinda doubt that.

I realize chickenwhisperer is upset (as am I right now at my own chicken issues), but I have to say that given the timing of post #1 and post#2, the second post came across as frustration that no one had yet posted an answer to the OP and sounded sarcastic. Given the second portion of your post title is, "not that anyone cares" , this does indicate your frustration. Since there are no tone inflections in type, we can't hear the tone of voice or see facial expression to know for certain. CW, if it was not your intent to be sarcastic, don't be upset. If it WAS your intent to voice your frustration through the sarcasm, just remember that it often takes quite a while to get responses to our posts, even if it's in the 'emergency' section, so take a deep breath, know that there ARE people who care about your chicken problems and want to do their best to offer any help they can. Be gracious and grateful to those who do take the time to offer whatever help they can.

I care and sorry this is happening. I have been going through the same thing. Seems if I get one better, two get something else. I had too put my Silkie that had a damaged wing, down and it kept looking worse and worse and it was so hot here that I didn't want him suffering. I believe that he was suffering and I can't handle that. CW hang in there, it should get better. One minute I don't want no chickens and the next minute, I want them all!!!

Yep, that would be frustrating, but it doesn't make it OK to call those trying to help liars and uncaring. Really sad and desperate posts land in this section, and emotions are high. I just lost a pet and have been posting, looking for answers here. and have had 1 reply to 2 posts. I recognize that others may not have answers, or time, to help me.

Hang in there, you have more company that you know here… (sick /dying chickens, court issues, frustration). I've learned from this forum a little more every time I have a chicken problem, and now I have to cull my 3 buff orps thanks to my not having been very careful about where I got them. Miss Prissy and Speckled Hen are 2 of the most experienced BYCer's here, and when they tell you chickens don't get "colds," they mean it - respiratory disease is chronic and contagious once it starts in your birds.

Please post your birds' info, (see list at top of EMERGENCIES section) so others can respond to give you some help. If it turns out the hens are all going ill and something is sweeping through, you may need to put them down… you might be able to see that as a fresh start once your coop is cleaned and disinfected. I'm going to bite my lip and start over with new chicks, vaccinated and henceforth kept away from any other hens! Starting over stinks, but on the other hand… a do-over is a fresh start.
Every morning is a do-over, for that matter! Chin up.

I am so sorry your silkies are having trouble!! Sometimes when bad things start happening to us we do wonder why is this happening to me?
And I do care and feel bad for you and I hope your chickies get better again soon!

Today is a new day..

I apologize to everyone if I sounded rude, I was just extremely frustrated with the world.

I had to carry a dead chicken to the end of the driveway today because it drown in the horse tank, but Im trying not to let it get me down.

I have 6 juveniles seperated because they showed mixed symptoms, (Dark Brahma had feathers puffed out slightly, Splash Silkie sleeping alot, Americauna looking like it had no neck...)

Again I am sorry about yesterday, and apologize to BYC'ers everywhere...

Ugh, I had a drowning too, with a newborn chick I felt awful. I had to spend an entire day keeping my mind constantly engaged in other complex thoughts or my mind would drift back to my discovery. My drowning was a lot more preventable- I accidentally left out a scrap food bowl and then it rained. It was just awful.

I'm sorry there are so many chicken issues at once. That would be really hard to deal with.

Laura

Wish I had something helpful to say, but I don't know enough about respiratory disease.

I can say I feel for you, it's hard losing chickens.
