We all have those days, and none of us like them. It makes me thankful to be able to share with other BYCers who know how I feel and understand what I'm going through. I hope things turn around for the better quite soon.

are you sure you shouldn't feed the chickens as a total group some coccidiosis medicated wet mash?
I feel that as this goes on it sounds like you have a issue with coccidiosis
It can't hurt the chickens but only help

so you can do this and it is very good

***4 qts of crumbles
3 tbsp of cayanne pepper
mix good and do not give any other feed
feed this for two weeks and it will straighten them up

then put them on the cayanne pepper at the rate if
4 qts dry crumbles
2 tbsp of cayanne pepper for life
they will be
both given pepper for coccidiosis and worms

it is very effective and you can eat the eggs

also give the wet mash probiotic
1 qt dru crumbles
1-1/2 qts milk any kind
1/2 cup of yoguart and will be fed so that they each get 2-3 tbsp of wet mash
what they will eat in 20-30 minutes
then clean up wet feeder and restore dry crumbles

feed this once a day for three times a week then once a week for life

thus it will make healthy eggs
and healthy chickens

Could you post the symptoms that all of the chickens have had (including the one you lost (which I am so sorry to hear) and the one with the "cold"). If you have others showing various symptoms, it sounds like something is contagious in the flock. Maybe one of us will recognize the symptoms and know how you can treat it, so you don't have anymore losses.

I am sorry that you've had a terrible time lately.

The pepper thing is really cool, I've Never heard that before.
And as for your stuggles and your loss

E-mail PM Re: GRRR... Why do things keep happening!?! Not that anyone cares.Today is a new day..

I apologize to everyone if I sounded rude, I was just extremely frustrated with the world.

I had to carry a dead chicken to the end of the driveway today because it drown in the horse tank, but Im trying not to let it get me down.

*********I have 6 juveniles seperated because they showed mixed symptoms, (Dark Brahma had feathers puffed out slightly, Splash Silkie sleeping alot, Americauna looking like it had no neck...)

Okay I will check the symptoms
**feathers puffed out
**sleeping a lot
***chicken with neck sunk into body

all these are coccidiosis problems
and the cayanne pepper won't keep you from eating the eggs

and if it is worms it will knock that out of them also

try something instead of just letting them die

hopefully you will fed them the wet mash probiotic with the cayanne pepper
and put cayabbe pepper in their feed

the horse tank needs a 12 inch board layed and wired to the tank so they can light on it when trying to get a drink

I'm sorry you are going through all these losses.

If you would like help, it would be best to post what kind of conditions these birds are being kept in, what you feed them, how often you clean their coop and their water. I would also wait until all of these problems are over before replacing the ones you lost.

I didn't feel like I was beating up on anyone. That is the kind of response that makes people less likely to help. When someone comes on, wants help but doesn't really post enough info for even an educated guess as to what may be wrong and then is upset when no one answers immediately....that just doesn't make me very interested in helping at all.

I agree and frankly I thought what you said was good advice....
