Happy Hen Chicken Rescue!

So, on the 21st I am driving 7 hours up to Grass Valley. I will arrive around 8:00 PM. Then I will go over to the sanctuary for a tour at 11:00 - 1:00 on the 22nd. Then I will ask if I can volunteer (like clean the chicken coops etc.) for an hour or so. Then I will drive down 2 1/2 hours to Animal Place's Vacaville sanctuary, and adopt 6 hens. So I have a busy weekend next week! On Monday I have an all species pet sitter to train! She will be busy that weekend too! She will have 32 chickens, 4 goats (the goats are easy though), 3 dogs, 1 cat, and one guinea pig to take care of. The chickens are the hard part...

A farm in Michigan that rescuers lots of animals, also rescued hens. Maybe I can call them and see of they know of battery hens!

I was at a small/local pet store getting a crate for the hens I am getting next week today. I go there all the time so I kinda know the workers. Anyways, on of the guys there is really nice (he loves chickens) and he asked about my chickens. I told him how we are getting 6 more from Animal Place. He said if we bring back 8 hens he would take 2! So we are bringing him 2 hens back from Northern CA. He can only take 2 because he has 4 hens already and he isn't aloud to have more than 6 chickens where he lives so. Anyways, that is good news! Especially since if Animal Place re-homes all the hens they rescue from this farm, they can go back on April 5th and rescue more hens. So,
