Happy Hen Chicken Rescue!

Yeah, it does't even snow here. In most of CA it remains sunny through winter...

I'm so jealous, almost every chicken here has frostbite on their combs, waddles, feet. Nothing too serious though.

Whine, whine, whine. My poor hens live on the coast of Maine, 2/3rds of the way up. They tear out of their coop in the morning like they've been trapped in there without food for days, regardless of the weather. (Their coop is pretty cozy with food, warm water and three big windows. After several mins of mealworms or scratch, they settle down in the straw or under the coop. I guess they like the outside fresh air. I think they're crazy. We are having a little issue with front bitten combs however.

BTW: Speaking of your SweetPea. The black/white Hamburg in my pic to the left was my little SweetPea. A fox killed her in Sept at 3pm at my front door in front of us. We were very traumatized as you can imagine. It was the only fox I'd seen for over a year and haven't seen one since.

Yeah, I would assume their combs are. I just don't need to worry about Frost Bite. It never gets that cold here

Also in CA here, enjoying the sunny temps and complete lack of snow as spring starts peeping around the corner...

But I'm also stuck under the hand of a suburb ordinance forcing me to get no more than four hens and no roosters.
