My flock in it's new home. A little concerned that they seem to still prefer their crate, but I am expecting they will adjust once they are done exploring. Side note, I opened the door to their run and they wanted nothing to do with the outside. I went so far as to pick one up and put it outside, and it couldn't get back to the coop quickly enough.

Also, just by the way, I do have larger feeder and water outside the crate, those inside ate just for nighttime snacking.

Give them a few days and they will be running around having fun.

Awww....babies.
It's fine that they are hanging in the crate, it's 'safe' and they will get over that.
It's actually good that they spend the first week in the coop, will 'home them to it.
Then you can start chucking them out in to the run then wrangle them back in.
Or spread some chick scratch on the ramp to get them going in and out.

They will find the way out as they get used to the new home, chickens are well chicken of new things.

You might want to just remove the lower roost and move the upper roost out about 15" from the wall or more unless you just like scraping poop off the wall... I moved my roost 3 times lol before I got it far enough from the wall as they grew up.

Didn't notice that at first....top roost maybe too close to wall to even roost on.

I guess the picture doesn't really do it justice, the top roost is about 8" from wall. Still too close? They're loving it right now, and wall is still poop free.

What a nice home! It took my poultry several days to get used to there new home but after a while they are running around happy as can be...it looks so nice and they are going to love it!

12" is the standard 'rule of thumb'...more is better, especially for rooster tails.
They are just babies now, once they start laying their poops will increase 3 fold in volume... and if 'juicy', may project an astonishing distance.
