The days are going to get longer, the hens and pullets will start laying, and it's the beginning of winter.

Well, two out of three ain't bad. For some, it's three out of three.

well, now there's a Meat Loaf song stuck in my head. i'm all for celebrating anything that gets us closer to spring.

I personally celebrate the solstice. Nothing fancy, but to me it's what the holiday season is all about. Reaching the longest night of the year, and thinking about all the hopes, and dreams for the coming year. Now I can begin getting next season in order in my head, and on paper. Happy Solstice day.

Yes, I'm waiting for those longer daylight hour's and the better egg flow again. I have a few pullet's that will also be due to start to laying those first egg's soon.

We are celebrating by getting some of our "spring" to do list done! Basically any semi warm day we are getting as much done as possible this winter and so we figured we'd get some stuff done on the shortest day of the year

Cleaning out barns, stuff is on the way to start incubating eggs for the spring, just trying to get the farm more functional!
