I had to laugh that same thing happened to me. I was just about to hard boil some eggs just now and knew I saw something about it and how to do them.

Hey NY! The trick is this, bring your water to a boil. Carefully lower the eggs one at a time into the boiling water. Set timer for 14 minutes. Immediately run cold water over them until they are cool, then peel right away. Out of 2 dozen I might get 1 that sticks. I learned this trick from a thread posted on here quite a while back. Good luck!

Very fresh eggs have no air space in them at all. It's easier to let them age about 5 days so there's a bit of evaporation. If you hard boil a day old egg with no air space, the shell often sticks.

Other than that, you can run uner cold water and peel immediately.

It is so frustrating and heartbreaking to have your eggs ruined by this problem--I know because it happened to me tonight! I steamed my eggs and they still did this. I'm going to try the baking soda idea and put a teaspoon in the water next time and see if that helps.

I use this method and have perfect eggs everytime. I highly recommend.

This is the best way so far, I tried them all, and this one is easiest and works.

Just learned this one a few weeks ago. I sure wish I knew it 20 years ago!!
