OK he's in terrible shape right now (molting!!), which is understandable as he was ill with one thing or the other for most of his life... but he has a very strong fighting spirit and that's what counts! I imagine he'll be a fine-looking gentleman in a few months once his heath has been stable for a while.

I think he's about 5 months old but not sure... what do you guys think?

I don't know how old he looks, but he does look great! He's spoiled rotten, how are you ever going to be able to look into those eyes and put him outside with the rest.

I love Tylan it has saved many birds for me. I get a plastic tipped syringe and just squirt it in the mouth instead of putting it in the water. Glad it worked for you!!

I couldn't log on until now so I had to miss the breaking news, but

YAY for your dream, too, Nicky. Mama does know best, huh? Thank goodness you had the wisdom to listen to it and follow your instincts. And now you get to see his personality and enjoy his happiness. I'm so happy for all of you, including your DH who had the patience to live through all of this with you. I can really see a difference in Sunshine's (beautiful

)eyes, even in a still photo!

Man... it's so nice to see life and nurturing prevail...

Sunshine says thanks everyone!

He's doing better every day but will only go back in the coop next Thursday as there is a terrible cold snap right now, mama's afraid he'd get sick again in the coop with the extreme cold and humidity.

Spoiled, much? LOL

After reading the praises of Tylan 50 I have been considering treating an infected laying hen with it. Poor girl has been toddling around with a swollen abdomen for a while now. I was going to euthanize her but she still keeps getting herself around, slowly but surely, so I haven't done the deed yet.

But yesterday when I went to the feed store they only had Tylan 50 injectable. Is that what you all are using? If you inject it, how much for a RIR hen, how often & for how long, where do you inject it, & what size/length needle do you use? Can you squirt it into their mouth?

Also, this package of 100ml had a 3/2010 expiration date. I was hesitant to buy something that would expire so soon. Is this usual or did they just have old product on the shelf?
