Hardware cloth

I totally agree with @aart. As long as it is at least 19 gauge welded 1/2 wire it should be fine. I f you really don't care about cost you could always go with the 15 gauge wire. However, it took me two months to gather all the wood and wire to build a small grow out pen for my young pullets. Everything that was available is now gone. I waited an extra 2 weeks for a piece of roofing material that never materialized and had to use galvanized aluminum. BTW: that's all gone now as well. Best of luck with your coop build.

What do you think about 1/4" HC at the bottom of the run? Burried 1' in concrete and then 3 feet up. At that 3' point, 1/2" HC over welded wire?
I would consider that excessive for where I live, but it depends on your predator situation where you are. I have 24-in high hardware cloth, then regular chicken wire to 6 ft and over the roof

I have fox, raccoon, owl, hawk, weasel. No bear thank goodness! Hardware cloth at 24 in is plenty high to keep raccoons from reaching in and grabbing chickens in my experience. Chicken wire will keep out all other predators, I found the trick is to secure it properly.
