harlequin ducks

Dr. Todd :

Hi Obsessed!

A sense of humor must be hard to come by up there in East Lansing.

My niece also uses my screen name. Her uncle, my husband's brother, is a real character. Good 'ol Uncle Pete hangs out at the local auctions and tailgate sales and picks up some real 'interesting' birds.

yep, that can get really confusing on here though.
One minute, you seemed very knowledgeable about stuff, then we're talking welsh harlequins and mixed geese..
I have to admit, I was wondering what was up with you too. May want to get her her own user name to avoid any confusion, LOL
OR AT LEAST HAVE HER SIGN IT SO WE KNOW WHOS TALKING.....

You lucky dog!!! Beautiful Birds.

They look happy with all the other geese. Is that an emperor or blue snow all the way on the left? Also do you have to seperate the redbreasted during breeding. Looks like a big enclosure. Man I wished I lived in the country. Keep up the good work.

Is there anybody out there with brant geese? I'd buy straight run goslings if need be. I would like to purchase or trade hand-knit sweaters for some.

Theres a few north Pacific breeders who have them, but uh, you aint gonna get them for no sweater trade, LOL.
And, you aint gonna get babies, these are $1500- $2500 pr birds when you find someone willing to sell them.

I assume this is baby Todd again right, not DR. ?

Schouten, Howe, and Dye are the only ones I have ever seen with the Brant listed at any time.
edited to add, the Lubbock's also had them, not sure if they still do, but they are on their website still.
From video I had seen on Dye's old birds, they probably had the biggest captive population on them though.

Schouten is the only one I have seen with harlequins listed for sell, but I'm sure he sells out quick on them too. He had an ad for them in a recent Gazette issue, but no price included for them. He did price his King Eiders, and r.b. mergansers and other stuff in one, but not the harlequins
