I guess they are based in the UK.

Interesting. I don't know much about Runners but when looking for info on what colors they come in the Duck Club site always comes up. The trout and silver are my favorite colors.Yes, that is the same color. It is currently not available in the United States though. What we call "silver" in the United States is actually black with a double blue dilution (also called "splash"). I have been breeding for harlequin runners for about 7 years now, and finally have enough quality birds hatching that I'm able to sell some.
I did the same thing. I fell in love with the "silver" runners from the EU, and searched for a long time. I didn't find any, so I started from scratch. It's been a 7 year (or more?) project. I am very proud to say that my first customers have been Dave Holderread himself, and Apricot Valley Waterfowl in Canada.Interesting. I didn't bother looking to see what country they were based in before now. Did you import your first breeders or did you start from "scratch?"
You have a silver harlequin runner? All of the ducks in the picture are silver, though technically 2 of the females have too much white on them. The male still needs to finish filling in his green hood. The female in the back is the most correct in color, but she is not quite as upright as the others. There is always something to improve on...Can you post pics of your silvers please? I have one but I'd love to see the really good marked silver.![]()
Here is a photo where you can see the correctly colored female better:You have a silver harlequin runner?
