Hello,
Started with 8 chickens last year and bought a Harris Farms galvanized waterer. It didn't last even 8 months before it began to rust. Has anyone else had this problem with their products and if so, can you recommend a different manufacturer of galvanized waterer. I would need a 2 or 3 gallon waterer.
Thank you!

We purchased one of these double wall galvanized waterers about 4 or 5 months ago. So far, no rust apparent, and it is still looking pretty good. We bought the 5 gallon size.

we also use galvanized trays/dishes. They are also looking good after about 8-9 months of use.

we only use plain well water.

Hopefully you can find a solution that works for you and lasts a long time.

What brand did you purchase?

The alternative plastic bottle has two caps, one at the bottom to fill, one at the top . There is no rust oncern, but chicken sitters and your family farm laborers (children) may drop the smaller cap in the litter, disavow any knowledge of the situation, and complain bitterly as they search around for a large enough leaf to roll into a makeshift cork. You are duly warned.
