Question: how do you calculate hatch rate? Do infertile eggs count towards it? I have from what I can tell 6 infertile ones and one that quit. So would it be (if all Alive ones hatched) 9/16 or 9/10?

I candled at day 3.

was trying to wait till Tue or Wed (day 4/5) so I wouldn't get depressed if nothing....... but maybe I will give in on day 3 (tomorrow). haahaa

When calculating the fertility rate you count all of the eggs.
When calculating the hatch rate you subtract the infertile eggs.

This is how I make my notes.
90% hatch rate (started with 16, 6 infertile, 1 quitter, 9 live chicks)
62% fertility rate

This was a picture from day 3. I found I was able to see a lot! (This was a bantam egg, but I could see a little something in standard eggs, too)

So you might be able to see something!
