Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

9 developing Ameraucana eggs in the bator 🥳
More than half of the original 22 weren't fertile, unsurprisingly.
2 were early quits (very early).
2 others I set off to the side in the bator because I can't be sure what I'm seeing in them.
I will have to try to take pics while candling tonight so some experienced peeps might weigh in.

9 still seems like a lot when added to the 26 chicks on the way here in the mail from a fellow BYCer (so excited!)
Plus 7 ADORABLE Mottled Orpingtons (lav & blk) we picked up locally over the weekend.
+ the 16 juvies out in the "juvenile detention" pen in the bigger coop. They just got their own run finished today and they were ecstatic in the sun, flying and dust bathing and going nuts.
We're raising 8 Leghorn chicks for our neighbor (who only eats white eggs 🙄) until they're feathered out. In exchange he is helping with coop build labor.

By ourselves, we've been busy building a big permanent double brooder with attached "runs" on our back porch, which has been so exhausting that my attention to this incubator has been minimal. I LOVE that it takes care of itself so well!
I LOVE that auto-turner and the way it politely rolls the eggs instead of jerking them around!

I fear we've caught a terrible case of chicken math. Should we quarantine?

My New NR360 seems to be running about 3 degrees below. I have to set it at 102.5 to get a temperature around 99.5 to 100. The eggs are in the outer ring. The room its in with the Air conditioner runs between 71 to 74 degrees. Does this seem normal?

I wonder if the newer incubators aren't being calibrated as well as the old ones because this seems to be coming up more lately. It's also suggested to try to get your temperature reading as close to the tops of the eggs as you can, it will be warmer there and that's where you want it to be 99.5F. There will also be variations throughout the incubator but the turner rotating around the incubator makes up for the hot and cold spots.

Just to be sure, did you calibrate your secondary thermometer prior to resetting the incubator as well?

Thank you for the quick response! 😁. I have 4 digital cigar Thermometer/Humidity meters that have been calibrated. There placed in the outer ring and are laying flat. I'll have to try to get a reading from the top of the eggs somehow. Maybe its a degree warmer from the top of the eggs.
