I did check!

Kinda thought there would be vendors with chicken stuff and more farming vendors in general. Not that there wern't a lot of vendors!

Really? I always thought there were tons of vendors .. they have them all in another part of the complex ... my friend had a booth there a couple years ago and I spent one day babysitting it. She makes weathervanes, garden shadows, lawn shadows, planter stakes, etc, all the way down to EARRINGS from black powder coated steel.

Oh and I placed 4th in showmanship. Ill go into details on that later. Bye bye, heading off to the farm show now!

I just want to jump in here and toot Hannah's horn for her. The Showmanship judge said he judges all over the country and
Saturdays Showmanship was one of the most impressive groups of young people he had ever judged. He said it made it that much harder
and he was running out of tie breaker questions. All of the kids should be very proud and I think having that experience and getting ribbons
from the the Secretary of Agriculture is such an amazing thing for a young person.

Hannah I am sorry I didnt get to say "HI" I meant to but my son had had enough after watching as long as he could and I couldnt keep an eye on him
and then find you afterwards. He was having a grand ol time running up to the cages and telling the birds their awards.."You got a 2nd...and you got a .."
and running off to the buns. I think he has enough chickens. They bore him.

I only took six birds this year but all did quite well,

White Pekin young duck - 1st
White Pekin young drake - 1st, rv, rb
Light Brown leghorn pullets - 1st, 2nd, rv, rb, reserve class champion
Bantam RIR cockerel - 1st
Bantam RIR pullet - 1st, bv, bb, SCCL champion, reserve supreme grand champion of show.

WTG Hannah, Congrats on all your wins! Glad you spotted us there today! I went down and said hi to Bullit and drool over your pretty Silkies, sooo pretty! Love the Buffs and Partridges! The Splash roo was gorgeous! He is such a pretty light color.

That place was nice when we got there at 8:30, but by the time we left at noon it was a sea of people lol.

We had a great time though and I am not even sure we saw everything. The place is HUGE!

We snacked our way through half of one building with all the free samples and could easily have spent a ton of money at the vendors and food stands! I did buy the Mozzerella cubes, they were really good.

I wandered around in my BYC hoodie, but didn't see anyone else there from BYC, 'cept Hannah

I'll post pictures of the boy here on this thread. The flash made his wattles appear redder, but he has a nice dark mulberrry comb and wattles. His brother got first in the cockerels at the Farm Show
